Endometriosis

Day 6 battle wounds
Day 2

Endometriosis

Left ovary

Left ovary getting rid of endometriosis
On August 5th I had my dye test done. I was a little nervous and scared, but everything went okay.  The radiologist inserted a catheter inside my uterus and injected iodine. It was uncomfortable and I got a little crampy, but Shane got to be in there with me so I felt a lot better. The iodine dye went through my fallopian tubes and out my ovaries. Everything was clear and there was no sign of scar tissue or blockage.
On August 11th I went in for a laparoscopy surgery to look for endometriosis. My mom, Shane and I arrived at Rocky Mountain Surgery Center at 5:30 a.m. I got taken back and started to get ready for surgery. The nurse gave me something that would start to make me numb and kind of have an amnesia feeling. According to my mom and husband I started laughing a lot saying I felt drunk and that I could see 2 of them. Apparently I was having a good time.  I remember getting wheeled to another bigger room with several people. I moved from one bed to another. They gave me oxygen to keep my breathing steady. That was the last thing I remember. Trying to wake up from the anesthesia was pretty hard; all I wanted to do was sleep. The nurse was helping me get dressed and I remember her pulling off little sticker things that kept me hooked to a machine. What I was hooked to or what it did I don’t know, I just remember her pulling it off and it hurt. Then the nurse took me to a waiting chair where they would bring my mom and husband to meet me. As I was trying to wake up I had thought I had heard the nurse say something about my appendix so I asked Shane. He said that they had removed my appendix because it was covered in endometriosis. My left ovary was filled with endometriosis so Dr. Cox removed it there as well.  I guess I had a lot of endometriosis so we were all kind of surprised.   Sunday August 14 was my worst day. I couldn’t hold anything down and my family was worried I was getting dehydrated. We contemplated going to the ER but I knew I had to fight. I eventually got some liquids down and held it down. My temperature had gone from 95.6 to 100.3 degrees in a couple hours. My incisions are healing up well and I am able to move around quite a bit.  So far so good.
